Information about phone number testing

Phone number testing is a simple service. We have people in over 110 countries who will make the test calls to your local phone numbers to check for the following issues:-

• If the phone number connects
• What the call quality is like
• If there was any echo during the call
• If there is any cross lines (hearing other people on the line)
• If there was “dead air” – silence
• If there was one way transmission (only one person can communicate)
• If there was static on the call
• If the line was clear and if there is any static on the line
• If there were any busy signals
• If there was any post dial delay (how long it takes to connect after dialling)

 

Because we use real people in country to test we are also able to record the test calls and forward this to you by email if necessary.

The test calls that we make are made from landlines and mobile phones (cell phones) in the country where you need them made from. For example if you need test calls made from France our tester will be situated in France with a France landline and France mobile phone.

Phone numbers that we test in country include:-

• International toll free numbers (free phone numbers that are country specific)
• Conferencing phone numbers
• Newly allocated phone numbers to test the set up is complete
• Numbers that have low volume usage to check that carriers haven’t switched numbers off
• Numbers that have been reported as faulty
